Work Text:

In a small cage in the basement of an orphanage sat a boy who couldn't be older than 8, his name was atsushi.

He was chained to the floor of the cage like a wild beast and crying quieter than any 8 year old should know how to. He had done nothing wrong except exist.

His thoughts were full of negativity not hope, he knew better than to hope or dream all that did was lead him into a false positivity that he would be safe one day.

He had been confined alone in the cage many times for various reasons, today it was only because he had bumped into another kid walking out of a room. Atsushi had apologized many times trying to make it up to the boy, but the kid had faked some tears and ran off to the headmaster of the orphanage telling him how Atsushi had attacked him.

"HE WHAT" the orphanage headmaster  yelled before storming off to find atsushi. When he found him the director grab the small boy by the back of the neck like how you would grab a cat and drug him down to the basement, screaming at him the whole time.

Atsushi had tried to explain "it was an accident I bumped into him wal-" slap

The headmaster had, had enough and would not listen to Atsushi's side of the story. For hours atsushi was beaten and berated for the simple crime of existing. “You are nothing, DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME” “your a vile creature who deserves nothing but hatred, you should be grateful you even get to stay here” the headmaster went on and on, he then chained Atsushi to the cage and left him to sit for who knows how long, could be hours could be days.

Atsushi knew better than to cry out loud there was no purpose all that would happen is that he would be beat more. And it's not like there was anyone he could cry out for he would never be saved from this hell he called a life.
