The Trials and Tribulations of Seo Yul

Summary:

Instead of divide and conquer, Jang Uk and Mudeok decided to get Seo Yul drunk in order for them to get close enough to learn his breathing pattern.

The plan worked a BIT too well.

OR

Yul suddenly stood up, “No, I should have known I’m a promiscuous person while drunk and bedding the both of you last night was wrong of me and-“

“Wait, what?!”

“-so, to fix this, I decided we should get married.” Yul said, his face conveying how serious he was at that moment.

“WHAT?!”

Chapter Text

Seo Yul groaned as he opened his eyes, his body aching as he had run through a vigorous of sword-work routine. Wincing as he noticed the early dawn light streaming into the room, the young mage shifted a bit then froze, finally noticing the set of foreign hands resting on his abdomen.

Turning slightly to his left, he realized in horror as he saw Jang Uk’s new maid was sleeping beside him, her unbound hair splayed over his chest. And where she was, Jang Uk was usually not far behind, meaning the loud breathing and warm body on the other side of the bed can only be his wayward friend.

He then noticed he was sleeping in his inner robes and from what he can see without lifting his head (and disturbing his still slumbering bedmates) the bottles of alcohol and mess scattered around the room.

Oh God, what happened last night?!!

Did he did the unforgivable and bed both his friend and his maid?! He knew (from Park Dang-gu’s wild stories) he can be a bit forgetful after a few drinks, but he was never this wild before!!

Yul groaned again and began to extract himself from his clingy bedmates without waking them, wincing everytime he accidentally pulled his sore muscles. finally successful, he gently tucked the blanket around them before heading to the mirror to check himself, almost facepalming at the paltry of faint bruises over his fair skin.

What the bloody hell happened last night?!

A loud voice from the bed startled him and Yul turned to see Jang Uk moving in his sleep, pulling his maid closer, mutering about masters and air. Despite of himself, Yul can feel himself smiling sadly as he came back to the bed, sitting on the side as he played with Jang Uk's curls. Poor Jang Uk, he finally managed his dream of having the seal over his energy broken but Master Park Jin had forbidden everyone from teaching him. Only way he can do now (unless Grandfather Heo takes back the torrent of energy he placed in his friend) is to find someone who willing to subvert Master Park's command.

As if she could sense his inner turmoil, her eyes opened. "Seo Yul Dolyeonnim? Why are you up so early in the morning?"

Yul couldn't breath, arrested by the surprising sight of her blue-tinted brown eyes.

Mudeok yawned again and turned to wake Jang Uk up, giving Yul a moment to catch his breath. "Dolyeonnim, wake up. Seo Yul Dolyeonnim is awake."

Jang Uk reached over his maid and pull him back into back into bed. "It's too early to be up Yul-ah. Come back to bed and sleep." Tucking him in between both of them, the two went back to sleep, leaving Yul alone with his thought.

Yes, maybe he should go back to sleep. maybe he'll wake up in the morning and find out this is just a dream, he thought hysterically. I mean, there's no way Mudeok, Jang Uk's irritating maid is actually Naksu the soul-shifter, right?

RIGHT?

Yul fell asleep, his mind still stuck over the incredulous situation he was stuck in.
