Things are going well, Olrox finally feels alive again, though he's pretty sure whatever emotions Mizrak once had for him are gone. Mizrak and him didn't speak, just walked in silence side by side. Olrox resigned himself to the fact he'd have to find someone else, Mizrak couldn't give two shits about him.
And up until now he had been right. Up until a keg of gunpowder exploded next to him, sending Olrox directly into Mizrak. They toppled to the floor and Olrox groaned in pain, looking at the shard of wood buried in his chest.TLDR: Author contrives a life or death scenario so that Mizrak can pull his head out of his ass. He finally has a chance to be free from the vampire forever, but did he really want to?
