Summary
A setting we're familiar with.
We kickoff with the reaping. Because of the last quarter quell, these games subject older citizens to eligibility. Wynonna volunteers for District Twelve. Nicole is reaped for District Eleven. Kara was discharged from the Peacekeeping Corps and then reaped for District Ten. Lena is assisting the Head Gamemaker. And Waverly and Alex must fight to help their sisters. Training begins. All the while, tension is brewing both in the districts and in the training facility.The odds are not great for our faves. Watch them intermingle and interact, train and struggle, learn and love, plot and scheme, riot and rebel, and flirt and fumble. In this era of games, the training period is longer. Perhaps the events here are why they shortened it.
Btw, there are tons of plot point hints even in the early chapters if you want to look out for them ;) It's not necessary though.

This is a fic I will have to reread to leave more accurate notes.
Thing is, this isn't "just" a genderbend. I'm putting this in ambitious plots because it's taking it so much further. Things get changed, and the end is something I cry about from the feels. The whole scenario is so fascinating and it's a good study on gender roles. I do recommend the fic.
What I like about the story:
- o Good "What if?" scenario
- o Great supporting cast that influences what happens (Sakumo is not alone--what do other people do when they think she plans on killing herself?)
- o Great framework--it goes by year and we see Kakashi growing up and how she will be different from canon!Kakashi--including other people's perception of her
