Society placed immense value on this phenomenon, as it defied scientific explanation. It was something irrefutable and unchangeable. But, above all, it was so intimate that social norms dictated the mark be kept covered in public. Usually, only one's family knew what the soulmate mark looked like. The problem? Light Yagami could not decipher the writing on his lower back. The ink was so black and the script so messy that it was indecipherable to anyone who saw it.

A fateful day arrives where a god of death drops a magical notebook and these two messed up individuals decide to play god with it.

Men who murder, rape, and commit violence. They were the ones who caused her and so many other women to suffer and live in fear. Now that would be over. Light would save women and the world along with it. She was a God who needed to exorcise evil males to bring salvation. She would take down anyone who comes in her way. She has no mercy for complacent people who protect evil.
The world begins to notice this frightening pattern.
Men are in fear. Women are hopeful.
And L gets to work.

Summary
In a world where the terrorist group, Kira, has the ability to kill people without being there, it's up to L, the world's greatest detective, and the NPA to get to the bottom of it all. Light Yagami has played the role of the perfect student well, but it's become terribly boring. She uses a magical notebook, the death note, to try and fix the world, while an odd lady detective tries to catch her and a fledgling actor tries his best to earn her affection.
This is the updated version of Blue Moon, which I began and then abandoned in 2017...

Takes place while Light and L are handcuffed together, Light can’t remember being Kira,
Light has always had suicidal and self-harming tendencies given the pressure put on him and his own self esteem issues. He keeps getting nightmares of the night an old classmate forces herself onto him which makes his habits worse. No one but Light knows about this all.
Since he was given the notebook most of those thoughts and his habits have slowly but surely disappeared. Though since Light is not currently in possession of the notebook anymore and therefore doesn’t have memory of it, his tendencies have returned. Light can’t act on them though, he can sometimes but barely. After all, he's handcuffed to L and he just can’t allow him to see.
Light is extremely uncomfortable and trying to hide everything from L, after all the scars aren’t old and being so close to someone when he’s so vulnerable is not ideal. Light is having a small crash-out over this and is constantly getting defensive which doesn’t help with L’s suspicions that Light is Kira. After Light wakes up from a nightmare and goes to grab his razor, L wakes up and it doesn’t take long for him to figure out what’s going on.Sorry if It's a bad Summary!

Summary
Settling into the new Kira Task Force headquarters after Light's time in captivity, L makes the decision to be chained to Light and with him 24/7. This decision was, on the surface, meant to create pressure for his prime suspect and to disallow Kira committing more murders under his watch. However, Light is no longer sure exactly why he insisted that he be put into captivity, and he does not quite seem like he remembers or possesses the power to commit murder from a remote location.
As the two of them coexist with forced proximity at all hours of the day, questions of dignity, personal space, and the nature of their relationship arise, all while Light deals with the fact that his father seems to give his ongoing consent to this situation.
[An alternate universe exploring the unsettling details of the 'chained together' situation, culminating in some release of sexual tension with a lot of emotional and character exploration along the way.]
