What none of them expected to find was a small planet covered in deep craters and a murky, red ocean that stretched along its entire surface. But what was more surprising than that was what they found floating haphazardly on its surface made of crudely welded metal, covered in organic material with faint heartbeat cradled inside.

"Evan," Lucas said, his voice dropping to a devastated, trembling whisper. "I should have told you. I swear to god, I should have told you before we even left the bar, but I didn't think... I've never had a condom break on me. Never. I am so careful. I am so, so careful."
"Told me what?" Buck asked. His voice didn't sound like his own.
Lucas closed his eyes, a tear escaping and tracking down his pale cheek. He swallowed hard, and then he looked Buck dead in the eye.
"I'm HIV positive."
