Summary
Gale tosses and turns, sleepless and haunted by nightmares of ice-cold statically charged magic that feels so awfully familiar to the orb’s tendrils around his soul. And it only gets worse as they get closer and closer to the city, to the brain, to the crown.
The crown of Karsus that he wants more than anything. Right? The crown that will solve all of his problems! It will! It just has to!And next to him sleeps Tav, reaches out for him even in their sleep, trusting that he will be there. He is. Of course he is, he wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!
The crown wouldn’t do that! And it doesn’t have to when Tav already does it!
And he pulls Tav close to him and his heartbeat and orb’s stirring calm down and that ice-cold magic from his dreams can’t find him here surrounded by warmth and Tav’s patient love…Series
