Upon tossing his third soda of the night into the trash can, Slingshot had snuck his way out of the bar, getting in a few good, sobering breaths of the chill night air. During that time of night, Crossroads had a certain peaceful charm to it, though hardly in the sense that it was quiet—Slingshot couldn’t imagine the city ever even remotely being so. But still, it felt… calming. Unreal, almost—a small pocket of time that your memories could stretch out into an eternity.
Slingshot thought about secrets and his skirt as he slipped into an alleyway nearby, watching people occasionally pass by. While the nightly breeze kept him awake, the warmth of the still air danced tauntingly between his legs, reminding him of just what he couldn’t escape.
It made him question, daringly, just how much of it was worth hiding so late into the night.
“…Sling? Holy shit, Slingshot?”
After a Phight, Slingshot ends up outside a bar with a couple too many drinks in their system and an equally drunk Coil all too willing to indulge their vices.

So, the general idea of this fanfic is that Chara never commits suicide and because of it they are still alive when the other humans come to the Underground.
They still hate humanity, but nevertheless aren't willing to commit suicide as they don't wish to leave their family behind, even if that selfishness means Monsters remain trapped in the Underground.
Then four years into their era the second of the eight humans arrives to the Underground, the one who arrived didn't trust Monsters and had in fact come to confirm whether the first human was dead, the fact that they weren't may be the only reason some peaceful resolution can be attained one day...unlikely, however.

And then, Armand turned to face him, holding his gaze as they leaned in close enough for Daniel to hear them when they whispered.
“Watch the movie, Daniel.” Armand told him, eyes glinting red as another crew member got butchered on screen, an amused smile on his face that made Daniel’s stomach flip. “I’ve got you.” He said the words as if they cost him nothing, as if Daniel wasn’t internally combusting at the way the softly uttered syllables were already echoing in his brain.
Daniel tore his eyes from Armand, looking back at the chaos erupting on the screen. Armand squeezed his hand, thumb stroking over Daniel’s knuckle.

Adorned in clothes that none had ever seen, with an accent none had ever heard, and nonsense spilling from their lips, it was no wonder why they were thrown at the widowed ruler’s feet and declared a murderer. For there was no other explanation for Verrie , with their strange name and even stranger mannerisms.— nor would there be for the bodies that begun to pile up after their arrival.
Unbeknownst to all, Verrie was no traveler, or god, murder, or anyone in this strange world of their own volition. They were from a modern age, and they would have to prove their innocence by finding the true culprit.
That was easier said than done considering that they were being held hostage deep in the bowels of the Imperator’s dungeon.
