Film nights in the bunkroom are becoming a regular occurrence, much to Lister's delight. Because who better share a great movie with, other than a (usually disgruntled) hologram?

Rimster Week 2026: Day 6 ~ Bunks/
MalfunctionAbove him, Lister rolled properly onto his stomach and dangled his upper body over the edge of the bunk. He just so happened to do this at the same time that Rimmer was swinging his legs over the side of the bottom bunk and moving to sit on the edge. This meant that while Lister’s upside-down head was just peeking down into the space of the bottom bunk, Rimmer happened to be moving to meet him, though certainly not on purpose.
The kiss, by all means, was an utterly ridiculous coincidence.
Rimmer and Lister accidentally end up kissing Spiderman-style.

Rimmer is somewhat of a lightweight when it comes to drinking, which is a surprise to no one...least of all, Lister. It does make chatting with him significantly funnier though.

Rimster Week 2026: Day 4 ~
Dave Era/ConfessionArnold Rimmer failed the Astronavigation Officer Qualification Exam for the thirty-seventh time at 14:03 ship time on a Tuesday.
The computer delivered the news with its usual enthusiasm. "Candidate Arnold Judas Rimmer has achieved a score of forty-two percent."
Rimmer stared at the screen. Forty-two percent. The really offensive part was that forty-two percent represented a personal best.
After another failed attempt at his astronavs, Rimmer gets seriously drunk. Then, he confesses his love to Lister. He doesn't know that he's already married to the guy.

Rimster Week 2026: Day 2 ~
Aceiverse/ArgumentRimmer’s face hardened. “Lister, you’re being childish.”
“Me?” Lister scoffed. “I’m not the one who starts crying the second things get a bit out of order!”
“That is beside the point!”
“No, the point,” Lister snapped, turning on him fully now, “is that I’m sick of you! Sick of your whining, your bossing everyone around, your stupid smegging little comments all the time about anything I do-”
“As if I’m not sick of living with a degenerate who thinks it’s okay to just leave crumbs all over the floor and put his bare feet up on tables? You think this is any easier for me?” Rimmer threw his hands in the air. “You think that living with you is the pride and joy of my existence? You think I’m happy here?!”
“Then maybe you should’ve stayed dead!”
Rimmer and Lister are arguing. Lister accidentally goes too far and Rimmer retaliates by shutting himself off. Lister learns that his life isn't quite complete without Rimmer there.

Summary
Lister stops dead in his tracks, just inside the doorway to their sleeping quarters, a grin spreading across his face. He leans back against the door, arms crossed over his chest, and watches his bunkmate in silence for a moment, trying to process exactly what he’s seeing.
“Oi,” he calls out, nodding towards Rimmer with a smirk, “training for the Bolshoi, are we?”

Rimmer wants to learn to fight. Lister offers to teach him.

Summary
It was bad enough that Lister read other people’s personal journals out in the open.
But to sneak up on a guy and read over his shoulder was a step too far.
“You love me?” Lister exclaims loudly, his eyes widening in surprise. -

In the medibay, when Lister thinks about it, it makes sense. Just like everything else in the ship, Rimmer's lightbee is teetering on the edge of falling apart.
It doesn't help when a mechanoid smashes it to pieces, of course.

Summary
Being asked to participate in Rimmer's 'scientific experiment' wasn't exactly what Lister had in mind for his afternoon of reading, but he's hardly going to refuse. Not when the guy's standing there, looking awkward. It ends up being more interesting than the book, anyway.

Summary
Completely platonic shagging, apparently. That's Lister's way of propositioning him, but Rimmer's not entirely convinced that's a thing.
But the awkwardness, definitely is.

In the annals of history, one boy stood differently among his peers. A penguin kept him company when he was lonely, and again when he went mad. Death can somehow get even worse, when you're not really dead anymore.
