Copy of my review: Oh my goodness. This was so, so good, and so beautiful. I love it so much. I was heartbroken when the hedge died, because it had been such a character - you made a bloodthirsty plant a lovable character - and I had adored it. And I continued to be heartbroken about the crumbled tower and the salamanders and plants. I'm so glad Dean still had a rose and the lichen.
Charlie was wonderful, as were Garth and Benny. I loved that Dean fought so hard, fighting through all those monsters and resting and fighting again; it was so true to who he was. But afterwards, he loved and cared for the plants and the salamanders and even the hedge that was part of his prison, and that too is so true to who Dean Winchester is. Not just a blunt instrument, not just a born killer, but someone so, so full of love. That was some absolutely wonderful characterisation work on your part.
Cas. Oh, Cas. I wanted to hug him so badly. My heart broke for him, especially after Charlie's revelations. I did giggle at the sign in his shop though.
I want to say more, but it's already past my work night bedtime, heh. Thank you so much for this labour of love. It's such a wonderful read.
