His voice seemed to drip with honey, laced with devotion, whenever the word left his mouth. Maybe that was why he never thought he would stop being his baby.
But then Shin wanted to leave the gang. And as Saint’s fists collided with his face that rainy night, not only was it their bond that had shattered across the blood-streaked concrete, but it was the Saint he knew as well—left to die at his feet as he stared at this new, unrecognisable version of the boy he had loved his entire life.
Alternatively, Saint and Shin were childhood best friends who fucked sometimes when in heat or rut. Then the great separation came, and Saint disappeared from Shin’s life for three years. When Udon Pithak and Thep Burapha combined campuses, they were brought by the universe to meet again, and somehow, one thing led to another and they fell back into each other’s beds. Shin’s voice trembles, his calm facade cracking as he stares at Saint.
“I never said that.”
“You didn’t have to. You standing there, looking at me like that—it’s the same thing. Like you’re trying to pretend it wasn’t your fault.” Shin snaps back.
Saint’s throat tightens.
“It was my fault. I know that, Shin—”
“You don’t!” he cuts him off, his voice sharp and breaking. “You don’t know what you did. You don’t know what it cost me.”
Saint takes a hesitant step closer.
“Then tell me. I can—”
“Stop it! You don’t get to ask me for anything. You've lost the right to when you ruined my life.”
“Shin, I think about it everyday and-” Saint says again, his voice trembling.
“Do you?” His voice is quiet now, broken.
Shin pauses before continuing.
“You didn’t just hurt me, Saint. You left me there. You knew what they’d do. And you left.”
Saint’s face drains of color. He doesn’t respond. He can’t.
