Summary
In a small Ukrainian village, Ayla tends to her farm and cares for a variety of animals that find her home a sanctuary. Outside the farm she works at the local clinic as a nurse with a passion for homeopathic medicine. Despite the company of her animals and colleagues, Ayla lives a life of solitude and loneliness is ever present.
In Western France, Jondalar takes on a journey to backpack through Europe in honor of his brother who never had a chance to live his dream of traveling. He sets out east across many countries, experiencing new sights, making new friends, and enjoying the company of women, but he struggles to find true happiness and love. As time passes he grows weary of traveling and becomes careless, getting injured and finding himself under the expert care of a beautiful Ukrainian nurse.
This is a modern retelling of Ayla and Jondalar’s love story from the Earth’s Children book Valley of Horses – this fic has been made as a stand-alone story so readers don’t need to be familiar with the original books to enjoy this story!

Summary
I always loved Valley of Horses and the little animal family Ayla had for herself there, so my decision to place the crossover at that time was very deliberate. It also helps that Marcy is stuck with the Sharamudoi (see my other fic in this series) who they're not gonna see in canon for multiple years still, giving each of the girls time to develop on their own, just like in canon.
Can be read seperately from the rest of the Prehistoria series.

Follow Anne as she's catapulted into the world of Earth's children, right with Ayla and her animal family in the valley of horses. Watch how even Anne's limited knowledge of future concepts breaks the world of Earth's children so hard it's not even funny anymore.
Also, remember how in canon the box scattered Marcy, Sasha and Anne across a continent?
Well, now it scatters them even harder, across multiple worlds.This was just a prompt, i didn't plan to continue it beyond chapter one. But... I did end up doing that, check out "Marcy and the firing of Clay" as well as "Anne and the Lion woman"
