Summary
Wei Wuxian didn’t look like he was doing calculations. Lan Wangji had watched him summing up tolerances in the shop, paused with his calipers on the thin brass sheets, tongue slipping out of the corner of his mouth in concentration. The fingers on his other hand would twitch, less counting than seeming to twist the numbers in front of him to fit like gears slipped into an invisible casing.
Instead, he held his arms up like an invitation to dance extended to the spin of the galaxy.
______________Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian are a pair of time travelers who separately got themselves stuck in 19th century London and lucked into finding each other. Wei Wuxian is building a time machine to fix it. They work on said time machine, go stargazing, and make out about it.

Lan Zhan opens the box slowly. His eyes go so satisfyingly wide when he sees the contents that Wei Wuxian considers inventing something that will allow him to paint moving pictures purely so he can capture the moment. Lan Zhan stares at what’s inside for a while, then his eyes flicker back up to Wei Wuxian, then at the box once more, and he swallows visibly.
“I did say I was going to make another one,” Wei Wuxian offers.
