Summary
"Hey," Wright says, breathless as he drips rainwater all over Miles's front porch, "I gotta—something I gotta tell you."
Oh, Miles realizes, and his heart seizes in his chest. For so long, he hadn't dared hope, had barely dared to think about the possibility that maybe, just maybe Wright would return the affection Miles gave freely to him. But he knows the Hallmark movies, and he knows what comes next—the heartfelt confession, the sweeping kiss and the cups of cocoa that follow. Not that an esteemed prosecutor such as himself would ever watch such drivel, but surely… Miles's breath catches, his mind racing with possibilities.
Wright smiles, bright and dazzling. "You know that case we were on?"
Miles blinks, any thoughts of kissing rain-chilled lips joining the puddles and rivulets of water down the drive. "You're sopping wet," he says, voice completely flat. "You'd better not drip on the hardwood."

"My word, could that be Phoenix Wright?"
The monster’s mouth moved cruelly around his name, each word dripping from his tongue like poison. Phoenix's throat bobbed. “I wasn’t sure you’d recognize me,” he admitted, tone carefully indifferent.
"I make it my business to know the current roster of hunters. It follows that I shouldn't need to ask what you're doing here. And yet, here I am alive. So begs the question." Miles was just as to-the-point as he ever was - words clean-cut and emotionless, save for an undercurrent of judgment. A subtle flavor of superiority mirrored in the upturn of his sharp nose.
“You said it yourself,” Phoenix’s brows pinched together, the resolution clear in his expression. “I’m here because…you’re alive. That’s what I believe, anyway. Even now.”
